This was one of my biggest challenges. Every issue of this magazine had to be published in 8 languages. To avoid redesigning each language layout, my task was to develop a grid system that allowed for printing a new language simply by changing the black ink during the printing process. I spent a long time developing a system that made German, English, Japanese, Russian, etc. look equally good, even though they are not only different writing systems but also take up different amounts of space.
What can I say – it worked, and for 6 years, we came together 4 times a year in a great team and produced this “monster” of up to 300 pages. And it went all around the world.
Unfortunately, I don’t own images illustrating the languages, but here are some.
